Micheal Nourot was raised in the San Francisco area. After graduation from the California College of Arts and Crafts, he immediately traveled to Venice, Italy. On the Island of Murano, he worked with many of the glass masters of Varini. He apprenticed under glass master Checo Ungaro. In Italy, Michael Nourot had the rare opportunity to absorb the old world methods for working glass as the famed Venetians still practice. Now, in his own studio in Northern California, he has formed a partnership with Ann Corcoran resulting in the exploration new artistic directions.
